In 1974, Robert Petrick founded Ridgeworth Roofing with high standards and a commitment to customer service. He and his wife, Barbara, grew Ridgeworth into the reputable and highly successful company it is today. The relationships they built, the expertise they nurtured, and the values they instilled continue today with the second and third generations of their family.

We at Ridgeworth Roofing take pride in our experts, veteran problem solvers dedicated to providing the best possible service on every job. Our roofers are trained professionals: union foremen, journeymen, and apprentices who are passionate about quality and service. We work closely with our customers to determine their needs and solve their particular roofing problems.

Ridgeworth Roofing Company:

Continuing a Legacy

Past Presidents and Owners

Robert Petrick started Ridgeworth Roofing with two partners in February 1974.  After a year the partnership dissolved and Bob continued to grow the business with the assistance of his wife, Barbara, who handled the finances.  Together they led Ridgeworth Roofing for nearly 30 years. They worked hard to provide their customers with the best quality roofing materials and service until 2003, when their son, current owner Rodney Petrick, took over. Robert and Barbara instilled in their family the values of hard work, honesty, integrity, and charity. Robert believed in giving back to the community and frequently volunteered with local roofing associations, and Ridgeworth Roofing honors Robert by continuing this practice through charitable projects each year. Barbara continues to share these values, now with their five great-grandchildren. Robert passed away on July 4, 2012, but his legacy lives on through the family and business he left behind.

President and Owner

Rod Petrick, inspired by his parents’ dedication to

quality and service, joined the family business in

1975 after graduating from St. Rita High School.

Rod began as a Roofers Local #11 apprentice, worked as a journeyman, and later, as a graduate of the “School of Roofology,” took the reins from his father and became President and Owner in 2003. Rod is an expert in his field and has served leadership roles in the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) and the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA).  Rod was a key industry representative working with the Roofing Industry Alliance to negotiate with the City of Chicago an amendment to the roof reflectivity requirement in new building codes. Rod carries on his father’s commitment to giving back and volunteers his time to a wide variety of committees and charity projects. Rod and his wife, Bonnie, have three children: Dan, Ryan, and Ashley.

Project Manager

Ryan Petrick showed an interest in the family

business at an early age, cleaning the office and

washing trucks while in grammar school. As a high

school student, Ryan was able to work at Ridgeworth Roofing while in the Lockport High School co-op program. He washed trucks, kept up the warehouse, and loaded trucks for special jobs. This preparation served Ryan well, as he joined the company after his graduation in 2003 and became foreman in 2007. Ryan currently serves as Project Manager, handles Ridgeworth’s CAD program and take-offs, and attends pre-bid meetings. He will begin the National Roofing Contractors Association’s Future Executive Institute in Fall 2014. This three-year program will prepare Ryan to eventually take over the family business. Ryan and his wife, Christen, recently welcomed their first daughter into the world.

Shop Manager

Brian Petrick, our Warehouse Manager, joined Ridgeworth as an apprentice in 1978. He handles all equipment maintenance, as well as logistics for materials and equipment due on site for ongoing projects. He also works closely with office staff on inventory control.

Administrative Assistant

Bonnie Petrick handles the financial management

and special projects for Ridgeworth Roofing. The

wife of owner Rodney Petrick, Bonnie brought her

extensive administrative experience to the company in 2005 after years of wanting to join the family business. Though Rod always joked that being married to her didn’t mean he had to work with her, it turns out that they work very well together. Bonnie enjoys contributing to the success of the business. She spends her free time reading, traveling, and delighting in her three grandchildren.
