Project Overview

The single-ply white membrane placed on the roof of the Frankfort Public Library during a 1998 expansion was discontinued a couple of years after its installation. The library staff had to shift bookshelves in an effort to protect the books from leaks from the failed roof. After the library acquired a state grant to cover half the project cost, Ridgeworth Roofing was the successful low bidder. Ridgeworth’s experts removed the failed single-ply roof, which covered three different roof decks. A large HVAC unit and architectural screen complicated the installation by creating tight working conditions for the crew. The Ridgeworth team worked around the library’s schedule without disruption and installed the necessary insulation as well as a Carlisle TPO roof system of just under 4,000 square feet. The system included a long-term Carlisle warranty to ensure that the library sees many watertight years ahead.
