Project Overview
Ridgeworth, the winning bidder on the project, began by removing the existing roof systems down to the steel roof deck of the Orland Fire Protection District fire station. They worked with the fire district’s HVAC contractor to remove obsolete equipment and installed new HVAC curbs on the roof deck. Ridgeworth then installed two plies of Johns Manville GlasPly IV in hot type III asphalt as a vapor/moisture barrier and installed two layers of Johns Manville 2.2″ Isocyanurate insulation set in Johns Manville Two-Part insulation adhesive. Next, they put on a 1/2″ Dens Deck set in Johns Manville Two-Part insulation adhesive and installed a Johns Manville BaseGrip SD/SA self-adhering base sheet to the Dens Deck. They fitted a Johns Manville Apex 4.5 FR modified cap sheet and properly heat welded it to the base sheet, skillfully flashed all perimeter walls and roof projects as per Johns Manville specifications, and reused or replaced the existing roof-related architectural sheet metal.
