RODNEY PETRICK

Past President and Owner

Inspired by his parents’ dedication to quality and service, Rod Petrick joined the family business in 1975 after graduating from St. Rita High School. Rod began as a Roofers Local #11 apprentice, worked as a journeyman, and later, as a graduate of the “School of Roofology,” took the reins from his father and became President and Owner in 2003. Rod is an expert in his field and has served leadership roles in the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) and the Midwest Roofing Contractors Association (MRCA). Rod was a key industry representative working with the Roofing Industry Alliance to negotiate with the City of Chicago an amendment to the roof reflectivity requirement in new building codes. Rod carries on his father’s commitment to giving back and volunteers his time to various committees and charity projects. Rod and his wife, Bonnie, have three children: Dan, Ryan, and Ashley.

RYAN PETRICK

President

Ryan Petrick showed an interest in the family business early, cleaning the office and washing trucks while in grammar school. As a high school student, Ryan was able to work at Ridgeworth Roofing while in the Lockport High School co-op program. He washed trucks, kept up the warehouse, and loaded trucks for special jobs. This preparation served Ryan well, as he joined the company after his graduation in 2003 and became foreman in 2007. Ryan currently serves as Project Manager, handles Ridgeworth’s CAD program and take-offs, and attends pre-bid meetings. He completed the Future Executives Institute through the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in early 2017. This three-year program prepared Ryan to eventually take over the family business. Ryan and his wife, Christen, have two daughters.

MATT WHERLE

Vice President

In his new role, Wehrle works closely with Ridgeworth Roofing President and Past owner Rod Petrick and President Ryan Petrick to assist with the CAD program and take-offs and attend pre-bid meetings.

“My experiences and background in roofing have prepared me to take on my new role at Ridgeworth,” said Wehrle. “I applied to the company because of its longstanding commitment to quality, service, and family-led values. I’m happy to be part of the team.”

Wehrle began learning the trade at a commercial roofing company during high school and college. He first entered the roofing industry in 2001. The next year, he attended Quincy University’s School of Business, earning his Bachelor of Science in Finance and then graduating in 2007 after earning his master’s degree in Business Administration. Directly following his college graduation, he re-joined the roofing industry and began taking a lead role at the Joliet-based Anderson & Shah Roofing Inc., estimating and managing several company projects.

In addition to his education, Wehrle has served on the Chicago Roofing Contractors Association’s (CRCA) trade show planning committee. He and his wife, Hannah, have a daughter and son.

Brandon Mrazek

Office Manager

Brandon Mrazek joined the Ridgeworth Roofing family in October 2023. Brandon is the friendly voice you’ll hear when you call the office. He handles many responsibilities, including answering phones, invoicing, filing, and proposals. Brandon enjoys spending time with his family when he’s not helping make sure things run smoothly in the Ridgeworth office.

ROBERT & BARBARA PETRICK

Past Presidents and Owners

Robert Petrick started Ridgeworth Roofing with two partners in February 1974.  After a year, the partnership dissolved, and Bob continued to grow the business with the assistance of his wife, Barbara, who handled the finances.  Together they led Ridgeworth Roofing for nearly 30 years. They worked hard to provide their customers with the best quality roofing materials and service until 2003, when their son, current owner Rodney Petrick, took over. Robert and Barbara instilled in their family the values of hard work, honesty, integrity, and charity. Robert believed in giving back to the community and frequently volunteered with local roofing associations, and Ridgeworth Roofing honors Robert by continuing this practice through charitable projects each year. Barbara continues to share these values, now with their five great-grandchildren. Robert passed away on July 4, 2012, but his legacy lives on through the family and business he left behind.

IN MEMORY OF BRIAN PETRICK

The Petrick family, and the Ridgeworth family, suffered a tragic loss on May 23, 2017. Brian Petrick, son, brother, friend, and a key member of the Ridgeworth team, lost his long battle with cancer.

Brian played an integral role in the family business for 39 years. He joined Ridgeworth as an apprentice in 1978 and worked his way to becoming our shop manager, handling all equipment maintenance and crane operation. Brian kept our crew well prepared and safe in many ways and often behind the scenes. We are all heartbroken and feel his loss deeply.

Ridgeworth Roofing has always been a family business, and Brian was a much-loved member of our family and our business. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives. Please keep all those who knew and loved Brian in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn his passing.
